Get Your Hike On

Looking to set off on your own hiking adventure? Here are our top 5 recommended local hikes:

Berrypicker Hiking Trail Does this name sound familiar? Instead of gliding down Berrypicker on skis, take this trail in the summer to access amazing wildflowers and top of the world views! See if you can recognize the trail during the summer months compared to when it’s covered in snow! If you’re looking for a challenge, start at the bottom of the trail; it’s easy to find at the base of the Eagle Bahn Gondola, and hike to the top (about a 2,000 foot elevation gain). You can then download on the gondola! If you are looking for an easier hike, take the gondola up and hike the trail down.

Booth Creek Falls Close to Vail Spa and easily accessible with the free East Vail Blue Line bus from the Vail Transportation Center. This trail passes through a wide canyon with lush fields. Slow down and notice the sounds of the rushing creek and the wind in the trees as you climb to the waterfall. This trail is rated as moderate/more difficult but we see people of all ages enjoying themselves on the trail! If you’re looking for an even bigger adventure continue on to Booth Lake after the falls.

Meadow Mountain Loop Located in the cutest little mountain town of Minturn (about a ten-minute drive from Vail Spa). Expect wildflowers in open meadows, historic cabins and aspen forests located along your ascent. Finish off with a meal at Rocky Mountain Taco or Minturn Saloon and experience a true day in the life of a local.

Great for all levels of hikers! The trail is 3.5 miles one way, but offers instant gratification for a shorter hike; adventure as far as you’d like!
