Rafting & Stand Up Paddle
Beginning in late April, local outfitters run the Eagle, Colorado and Arkansas Rivers, offering thrill seekers a chance to splash through the rippling rivers and big rapids. Try the Night Vision Raft Trip with Timberline Tours for something out of the ordinary!
Colorado is known for some of the best white water in the country. Guests can enjoy anything from a lazy float to a heart-pumping Class V river adventure. Most outfitters offer transportation as part of the raft trip and some even offer overnight adventures.

Hiking
One of the Vail Valley’s most popular summer activities. It’s free, as easy or strenuous as you want to make it, and the views are unprecedented. Hiking trail maps, available at the Vail Spa Front Desk, will guide you along marked trails, or take a guided nature hike with a local expert – great for all ages and ability levels.
Ride the Vail or Lionshead gondola up and hike around Vail Mountain or venture outside the Vail Valley to tackle one of Colorado’s famous fourteeners. Even though the altitude can take some getting used to, the Vail Valley has trails for beginners, children, and elderly hikers.
Be sure to pile on the sunscreen, bring lots of water, and pack an extra layer for when the sun goes down.
