It’s that time of year again and local farmers’ markets are back in full swing! Here in the Vail Valley you have several options of great markets to suit your needs and schedule. Enjoy browsing and snacking as you go! These markets are a free, family-friendly way to enjoy a weekend morning.
Vail Farmers’ Market
Sundays 9:30am-3:30pm June 20-October 3 (market is open on July 4th!)
From Vail Spa Condominiums you can take the free in-town bus to Vail Village or enjoy a 15-20 minute walk along the river on the recreation path. Then slow your stroll down East Meadow Drive in Vail Village, while perusing beautiful arts and crafts and enjoying tasty treats as the sounds of Jazz fill the air.
Here are a few of our favorite vendors:
- Kady’s Collars Your special furry friend must have one of these unique Colorado collars! Every year owner Mindy Jarred donates a portion of the proceeds to a dog rescue in need. Support a great cause and have your pet looking like the next the next top dog-model with a handmade collar.
- Pastamoré With products such as barrel-aged balsamic vinegar, cold pressed olive oil blends, marinades and handmade pastas you can’t go wrong visiting Pastamoré and picking up something for dinner. One of our all-time favorites is the Wild Mushroom Linguine. Throw in some local produce from Wynn Farms for a fresh and healthy summer meal prepared right in your Vail Spa kitchen!
- Cold Mountain Craft What better way to remember the memories you make in the Rocky’s than by picking up a handcrafted journal. These journals are extremely durable and will stay strong while you’re hiking down the trails and noticing the local flora and fauna or scaling a 14er (you’ll want to jot down that indescribable feeling of reaching the peak)! These also make great gifts for that friend or family member who couldn’t make the trip this year.
Edwards Corner Farmers’ Market
Saturdays 9:00am-1:00pm June 19-September 25
Hop in the car (or ask your Vail Spa Concierge to call you a taxi) to the Edward’s Market, just 15 minutes down the road from Vail Spa! The Edwards Market is known for farm fresh fruit, veggies and flowers, local meats, jams, pies, bakery and more. Plan to have lunch at the market, followed by a small batch, artisan ice cream cone at Sundae!
Minturn Market
Saturdays 9:00am-2:00pm July 3-September 4
A quick car ride or taxi will have you in historic downtown Minturn in just minutes. You can expect fresh local produce and tons of local artists at this market! If you’re looking for a gift or souvenir that is uniquely Colorado, this is the place to find it. After you’ve completed the market, stroll the shops along Main Street and stop in for a margarita at the Minturn Saloon before you head back to Vail.
