Vail Mountain Winter Operations 2021/22

Snow is falling and we are mere weeks away from opening day on November 12th! Find your goggles, tune your skis and give this article a quick read so that you know what to expect on the mountain this winter:

Reservations Reservations will not be required this winter for mountain access. Gondolas and lifts will be loaded at normal capacity.

Masks Face coverings will be required indoors only. This includes restaurants, lodging properties, retail locations, rental locations and on buses. Basically, the best practice is to know that if you are indoors or enclosed space, a mask is required. Masks/face coverings are not required outdoors, including in lift lines and on gondolas/chair lifts, unless required by local health authorities.

Dining Guests will be required to book a reservation for on-mountain restaurants including Mid-Vail, Two Elk, Eagle’s Nest, Wildwood and The 10th using the Time to Dine reservation service.

Proof of Covid-19 vaccination will be required for guests ages 12 and over in order to dine at the indoor, on-mountain quick service (cafeteria style restaurants) including Buffalo’s, Belle’s Camp, Dawg Haus, Express Lift, Golden Peak Grill and The Coop. This applies to kids and adults having lunch with ski school.

Cashless Transactions All transactions are cashless at Vail Resorts hotels, restaurants, retail and rental locations. For the best experience, book and pay online in advance whenever possible.
