Vail Veterans

Most people that have visited Vail know that our little slice of heaven was greatly influenced and by the impact of the 10th Mountain Division and it’s soldiers. Many of the soldiers who fought in World War II had a common love for the outdoors, which translated to skiing.  And for some that passion led to the development of America’s ski industry, especially here in Vail. To find out more about the 10th Mountain Division check out the Colorado Ski and Snowboard Museum Hall of Fame

Vail recognizes  an opportunity to support our Wounded Warriors through outdoor Mountain experience. The Vail Veterans Program  seeks to

“EMPOWER MILITARY INJURED AND THEIR FAMILIES THROUGH INNOVATIVE AND TRANSFORMATIONAL PROGRAMS THAT BUILD CONFIDENCE AND IMPROVE LIVES.”

In 2017 from March 5th to March 10th Wounded Warriors and their families are offered four days of winter adaptive ski/snowboard instruction along with family meals, and much more. For more information check out http://www.vailveteransprogram.org/
